Enzyme Finance

Melonport AG was founded in July, 2016 as a privately domiciled company in Zug, Switzerland. Their sole mandate was to develop Melon, an asset management computer built on Ethereum. In February 2017, the company raised money through a token sale to fund development.

Melon Protocol was rebranded to Enzyme which launched in 2020.

Since then Enzyme has had over 1,400+ vaults being created and assets-under-management (AUM) growing from $0 to $230M. This spike in user growth, AUM and ecosystem activity has been driven by Enzyme’s desire to improve the experience of asset management. In February 2022, for example, Enzyme released its v4 Sulu, which deployed on Ethereum and Polygon. The Polygon deployment in particular is a large improvement for smaller, independent asset managers, since the huge reduction in gas fees makes it possible to create, manage and run a vault at a fraction of the cost. Enzyme’s Ethereum deployment, meanwhile, is incredibly robust and offers access to dozens of DeFi protocols and 350+ digital assets – all from the comfort of one simple and trustless platform. With Enzyme, users can easily access yield with Yearn Finance, Idle Finance and Convex Finance, Lend and borrow via Aave and Compound, trade with the likes of Paraswap and 0x, and stake via Curve Finance and Uniswap.
