About PlatON Network
PlatON is an open-sourced, community-based blockchain ecosystem, which aims at serving as the infrastructure for privacy-preserving computation networks and distributed economies. Based on the basic properties of the blockchain and privacy-preserving computing network, PlatON provides the next-generation Internet infrastructure protocol featuring “computing interoperability”.
Background
PlatON was established in Singapore in 2018, initiated and driven by the LatticeX Foundation. The name PlatON is a tribute to the great Greece philosopher and thinker in Western philosophy, Plato. The founders think that in order to understand the blockchain, one must have deep knowledge of public chain technology and cryptography.
PlatON assembles a talented team with a solid background in both academics and technology, covering the area of verifiable computation, secure multi-party computation, zero-knowledge cryptography, homomorphic encryption, and other cryptographic algorithms. By building a computing system based on these technologies, PlatON provides a public infrastructure with an open-source architecture for global artificial intelligence, distributed application developers, data providers, and various organizations with computing needs.
Since its establishment in 2018, PlatON has been through many milestones, like the release of 2 whitepapers, a testnet, and a mainnet. Eventually, it will be able to bring in democratized AI to the public blockchain.
