Background
TCY (THORChain Yield) is a native token on the THORChain network. TCY was introduced when THORFi was paused in January 2025 due to unsustainable debt. To address this without full repayment in original assets, the community approved converting that debt into equity via a new token:Each $1 of defaulted/debt claim was converted 1:1 into 1 TCY token. This turned affected users (from lending, savers vaults, or related features) into holders of a yield-bearing token instead of facing total loss.
