Tranchess is a platform that offers liquid staking services and tranche funds to optimize investment returns. Users can stake their assets in PoS networks and earn sustainable returns while keeping their assets liquid for use in the broader DeFi ecosystem. Tranchess also provides two tranche funds, BISHOP and ROOK, which offer different investment options. The platform's governance token, CHESS, allows users to participate in decisions and receive rewards. Tranchess has been audited for security and offers bug bounties for additional protection.
Background
Tranchess was conceptualized in early 2020 and launched on June 2021 with its first underlying asset pool tracking Bitcoin. As DeFi boomed in 2021, there was a lack of structured investment products that allowed investors to diversify their exposure accordingly within specific risk tiers. Tranchess sought to offer a structured financial product for investors looking to gain exposure to cryptoassets that offered these options. Its core product design is based on tranche fund products from traditional finance, where financial institutions create a sliced financial product with different risk/return tiers from one main fund. Tranchess initially launched with a Bitcoin main fund, and subsequently launched its second fund for ether in November 2021. In mid-January 2022, Tranchess achieved its longtime goal of being a BSC validator and simultaneously launched its third and latest fund for Binance Coin. It was announced in July 2021 a successful seed funding round of $1.5 million led by Three Arrows Capital and Spartan Group, including investors Binance Labs, Longhash Ventures and IMO Ventures.
