Why it matters
It shows the slowest-moving floor the market has and the rate at which that floor climbs, which is a different question from where price is today.
How it is built
The 200-week moving average of price, with each point coloured by that average's percentage increase over the trailing month.
What to watch
Price has never spent long beneath the 200-week average in a completed cycle, and the hottest colours — the months when the average climbed fastest — have clustered around cycle tops.
