AVIV
Bitcoin
The AVIV Ratio compares price to the Active Value Invested — the cost basis of active supply — a lost-coin-filtered refinement of MVRV.
Why it matters
It measures how expensive the market is versus capital actively at risk, giving a cleaner cycle signal.
How it is built
Active market value is divided by active invested (realized) value using cointime weighting.
What to watch
AVIV extremes mark sharper tops and bottoms than raw MVRV by excluding dormant and lost coins.
