BTC Trade Volume
Bitcoin
The total USD value of bitcoin traded on exchanges each day.
Why it matters
It measures conviction behind a price move: the same percentage gain means something different on a heavy day than on a thin one.
How it is built
Summed reported volume from the exchanges the source tracks. Reported volume is self-declared by venues and is known to be inflated at some of them, so read the trend rather than the absolute level.
What to watch
Volume is the honest witness to a breakout. Price can drift on a quiet tape, but a move that holds usually arrives with volume, and a move that does not tends to be given back.
