Cointime Liveliness Liveliness
Bitcoin
This indicator combines Liveliness, Vaultedness and the Active-to-Vaulted Ratio (A2VR) to describe how much of Bitcoin's supply is actively moving versus dormantly stored.
Why it matters
It distinguishes accumulation regimes (coins vaulting away) from distribution regimes (dormant coins reactivating and spending).
How it is built
Liveliness is cumulative coin-days destroyed divided by cumulative coin-days created; Vaultedness is its complement; A2VR contrasts the actively transacting supply against the vaulted, long-held supply.
What to watch
Falling Liveliness (rising Vaultedness) signals long-term holders accumulating and locking away supply, a bullish structural backdrop; rising Liveliness warns of old coins waking up to distribute.
