The MVRV Gradient Oscillator measures the rate of change (gradient) of the MVRV Ratio over a rolling window, converting the valuation ratio into a momentum signal.
Why it matters
It surfaces turning points in valuation momentum before they show up in the raw MVRV level.
How it is built
The slope of the MVRV Ratio is calculated over the chosen lookback window and normalized into a zero-centred oscillator. This particular series applies the oscillator over a 180-day lookback window.
What to watch
Rising gradients indicate accelerating valuation expansion typical of bull impulses, while falling gradients flag cooling momentum that often precedes consolidations or tops.
