BTC Avg Confirmation Time
Bitcoin
The mean time in minutes for a transaction to receive its first confirmation, measured over the day.
Why it matters
Read beside the median, it exposes the tail: how badly the slowest transactions of the day were delayed.
How it is built
Measured for fee-paying transactions only. Because it is a mean it has no upper bound, so a single day of severe backlog can dominate the series.
What to watch
A mean far above the median is not noise, it is the shape of a congested fee market. When blocks fill, everything that underbid waits, and those long waits pull the average away from the typical experience. The gap between the two lines is a cleaner congestion read than either line alone.
