The median time in minutes for a transaction to receive its first confirmation, measured over the day.
Why it matters
It answers the question a user actually asks — how long will my payment take — for the typical case rather than the average one.
How it is built
Measured for transactions that carried a fee; zero-fee transactions are excluded because their wait is unbounded and would not describe normal use.
What to watch
The median is the honest number here. A handful of low-fee transactions stuck for hours drag the mean upward, while the median tells you what half of all payments experienced. Watching median and mean diverge is itself the signal: a widening gap means the fee market has split into a fast lane and a stranded tail.
